Greensboro, NC (April 27, 2021) – To encourage employees to “Get Outdoors” and enjoy time outside with family and friends, Cooper Electrical Construction Company started a Get Outdoors! Campaign for Spring/Summer of 2021. “Stress and the fear of the unknown affected a lot of people during the pandemic, and we recognize the benefit of getting outside, for both the physical and mental health of our employees,” stated Barry Brown, Cooper President and Dean of Encouragement.
The Get Outdoors! Initiative consists of three Cooper sponsored events from May – July. Employees are encouraged to register for these events through email and social media and, upon registering, are given tickets for their family to enjoy their event(s) of choice. Once registered for an event, employees receive a special “Go! Bag” which includes Cooper branded goodies in a drawstring bag.
May’s Get Outdoors! Event was two weekends at the NC Zoo in Asheboro. Families had a blast seeing the animals, getting some sun, and spending time with one another. “Thank you for the zoo day. It was hot but a good time.” commented Cynthia Roberts, Project Billings Administrator at Cooper.
June’s Get Outdoors! Event is a weekend at Pullen Park in Raleigh, NC. At Pullen Park, families will be able to ride the train and carousel as well as explore the different playground areas. This event will take place on Saturday, June 19th, 2021.
July’s Get Outdoors! Event is two weekends at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham. Employees will be able to register for one of the two weekends, either Saturday, July 17th, 2021 or Saturday, July 31st, 2021.
Cooper’s main goal with this campaign is to get people outdoors and spending quality time with their family and friends. Whether employees were able to attend one of these three main events or not, they were still encouraged to visit and explore different parks, trails, and greenways. Not only does this campaign demonstrate the appreciation Cooper has for its employees, but it also stresses the importance of getting outdoors, enjoying the fresh air, and relaxing.
